OSYKA, Miss. (AP) - Spilled coffee slowed traffic for 14 hours on Interstate 55 near the Mississippi-Louisiana state line.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol tells the Enterprise-Journal (https://bit.ly/1NMqPm8) that plastic cans of Folgers coffee were strewn across southbound Interstate 55 after the tractor-trailer hauling them Friday ran into the median.

A spokesman says trucker Robert Cooper of Decatur, Illinois, went to a hospital but did not appear seriously injured.

The coffee containers had to be picked up by hand, placed on a pallet and reloaded into the truck, which had to be removed from the roadside cables.

Police say the accident restricted traffic to one lane from before noon Friday until 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

The wreck was just south of the Osyka exit, less than a mile from Louisiana.

Police are investigating the cause.
