TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson have arrested a man accused of initiating an early morning shooting outside an apartment.

Authorities say 19-year-old Dezon Scott was booked Sunday into Pima County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.

Police spokeswoman Kimberly Bay says officers were called to a complex on South Turquoise Vista just before 2 a.m. and found 24-year-old Ian Hoying with a gunshot wound.

Firefighters administered CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bay says the men got into an argument on a staircase outside an apartment and Scott allegedly fired a gun, hitting Hoying.

She says Scott fled but returned a short time later and was taken into custody.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are still searching for witnesses.
