NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A man shot outside a Newark laundromat has died from his wounds.

But a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Essex County prosecutors say 28-year old Hassan Chatmon was shot around 9 p.m. Saturday. The East Orange man was taken to a hospital, but he died there a short time later.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting. The laundromat was open at the time, but authorities have not said how many people were in the business or if any of them witnessed the shooting.

Further details about the shooting have not been disclosed, including what type of weapon was used or how many shooters may have been involved.

No arrests have been made.
