MILTON, Del. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been charged with driving under the influence after authorities say he crashed his pickup truck near Milton, setting the car and a tree on fire.

The Delaware State Police says the crash happened Sunday on Union Street Extended approaching Coastal Highway. State Police say the driver crossed the north and southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, then hit two tree stumps and a tree. State Police say the truck and tree caught fire, causing damage to a home.

State Police say a trooper pulled the unconscious driver from the vehicle. The man, identified as 25-year-old Michael B. Fitzpatrick of Cape May Court House in New Jersey, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Attempts to reach Fitzpatrick or his family for comment Sunday were unsuccessful.
