POMONA, Calif. (AP) - Police arrested a man spotted walking down a residential street in Pomona wearing body armor and a carrying a 9mm handgun.

City News Service says officers were dispatched late Saturday following a report of an armed man on the roof of a home.

The officers found Nathan Daniel Ware on the street wielding the gun and wearing a ballistic vest.

The 31-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of violating parole, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of body armor.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer.

Officials didn’t detail the terms of Ware’s parole or his previous crimes.
