HOUSTON (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says one person has died after an accident involving two boats in Cedar Bayou near Baytown, Texas.

Watchstander Phillip Woods says the Coast Guard got a call for help Sunday afternoon from a person aboard one of the boats that there had been an accident involving two boats carrying seven people. Woods says a Good Samaritan rescued four people and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office rescued another two before the Coast Guard arrived.

The Coast Guard sent rescue crews by boat and helicopter, but the victim was found unresponsive in the water. The six who survived were taken to Roseland Park for medical attention.
