EDINA, Minn. (AP) - Two people are under arrest after an Edina police officer was assaulted during a traffic stop.

Edina city officials say the traffic stop happened just before 1 p.m. Monday near an intersection in the Minneapolis suburb.

Police say the driver immediately got out of the vehicle and started to assault the officer. Officers from both Edina and Richfield were called to the scene, and quickly arrested both the driver and the passenger.
