CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police say two people have been killed and a third person seriously injured after gunfire erupted during a domestic dispute in northwest Charlotte.

Multiple media outlets report that officers responded to the scene of the shooting Saturday night and found 37-year-old Judith Causey and 50-year-old Kevin Conner dead from gunshot wounds. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say an unidentified man who had formerly been in a relationship with Causey had a potentially life-threatening bullet wound. Authorities said Sunday the man was in critical but stable condition at a hospital.

Investigators say they believe Conner shot both victims before shooting himself.

The slayings would be Charlotte’s sixth and seventh domestic-violence-related homicides in 2015. Three people were killed in domestic violence homicides last year.
