COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 59-year-old man shot and killed his wife in their Columbia home before turning the gun on himself.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said in a news release that 53-year-old Marcia Hamin-Robinson and her husband, Ralph Robinson, were both shot in the head.

Police say officers came to the home after a 911 call around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Watts says he is ruling the deaths a murder-suicide. The Columbia police investigation continues.
