BOSTON (AP) - Police have arrested a man who they say forced a woman into her Boston apartment and violently sexually assaulted her.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans says the 36-year-old Westwood man knew police “were on him” and that he turned himself in Sunday morning to Medford police.

Police released surveillance video of a man suspected in the early Tuesday morning attack near Fenway Park.

Evans called the attack “vicious” and “unprovoked,” and says he’s glad the man is off the streets.

He will be arraigned Monday in Roxbury District Court on a charge of aggravated rape.
