DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit high school has celebrated a library makeover with a current and former member of the Detroit Pistons.

Aron Baynes and former player Earl Cureton talked with students and distributed backpacks during a ribbon-cutting Monday at Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern.

The library is part of Farm Bureau Insurance’s Reading Room Makeover contest. Baynes and Cureton worked with other volunteers on the project. The library has new paint, furniture, floor, technology and Detroit Pistons-themed graphics.

More than 30 schools submitted applications. The Detroit Pistons have renovated 32 facilities across Michigan as part of the NBA’s Live, Learn and Play Program.
