HARTFORD, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a 25-year-old man is jailed on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of a woman in western Arkansas.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office says authorities arrested Aaron Cutsinger of Hartford on Sunday. Lt. Philip Pevehouse says authorities began investigating after a woman was found dead Saturday night on Sugarloaf Mountain Road near Hartford. Authorities also found a child who had bruises at the scene.

Pevehouse says investigators developed Cutsinger as a suspect after looking into the victim’s past. Cutsinger was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder for the women’s death and aggravated assault for the injured child.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name or a cause of death. Cutsinger remains jailed and authorities did not know if he had an attorney.
