WILSONVILLE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon state officials say a male inmate at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville has died.

Oregon Department of Corrections officials said in a news release that 46-year-old Carlton Ford died Monday morning after collapsing in his cell.

Ford had been at the prison since August 2015 on charges of burglary, menacing and weapons use, with a release date of March 2019. He was housed at the facility’s intake center, where all those committed to state custody go first for evaluation.

Members of the Oregon state Police Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating.
