LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a man has died after being stabbed in northeast Las Vegas in a wash area.

Las Vegas police said they were called to the area near east Owens and Sandhill Drive shortly after 2 p.m. Monday where they found the man who died later at University Medical Center’s trauma center.

Homicide detectives are still investigating and looking for another man believed to be the stabbing suspect.

Officer Laura Meltzer says a person has been detained in connection with the stabbing but it’s not known if the individual is the suspect police are seeking.
