AVON, Ohio (AP) - Police say a woman’s ex-boyfriend burst into her northeast Ohio home and fatally shot a man before taking his own life.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday at the woman’s home in Avon.

Officers arrived on-scene to find one man dead on the home’s steps and then heard additional shots fired inside.

Police say the woman emerged and told officers that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her before shooting her guest and turning the gun on himself.

SWAT team members secured a perimeter and entered the home, where the ex-boyfriend’s body was discovered.

Police haven’t released the identities of the deceased men. Officials say the shooter and the woman had a 20-month-old son together.

Police Chief Richard Bosley believes the slaying was the continuation of a domestic incident.
