RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez will discuss income inequality during a visit to Richmond.

U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott will join Perez during Monday’s visit, which includes a roundtable discussion at Virginia Union University. Other roundtable participants include Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones, business and labor leaders, small business owners and worker advocates.

Perez and Scott also are scheduled to visit and tour a restaurant in Richmond.

Scott and Washington Sen. Patty Murray have proposed a bill to increase the federal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $12 per hour by 2020.
