DETROIT (AP) - A northwest Detroit business will get a few upgrades as part of the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Week of Caring program.

The Eight Mile Boulevard Association says the auto financing firm is providing $5,000 and nearly 50 volunteers to paint a mural outside Detroit Vintage Coffee, expand an outdoor customer patio and paint nearby blighted properties.

The work will be done Monday and Tuesday, and is expected to help the coffee shop stand out in the busy traffic corridor along Detroit’s northern city limits.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is committing more than 500 volunteers and 3,000 service hours to 11 projects in the Detroit area.
