LIVERMORE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have rescued 10 starving dogs from a residence in northern Iowa.

Animal Rescue League of Iowa officials say the dogs were rescued Sept. 16 after Humboldt County law enforcement officials sought help with the eight adult dogs and two puppies in Livermore.

League officials say the dogs are undergoing medical treatment at the league’s shelter in Des Moines.

Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger says the dogs’ owners face 10 counts of animal neglect.
