MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - Preparations are taking place for the third annual Great Lakes Crop Summit that’s scheduled for next year in Mount Pleasant.

The event runs Jan. 27-28 at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. Last year, more than 700 farmers from across Michigan were in attendance.

The event will feature speakers from universities, industry and private consulting firms representing several states. Topics include crop production practices, family succession planning, consumer trends and exports. A trade show also is planned.

The Michigan Corn Growers Association and the Michigan Soybean Association also will hold their 2016 annual meetings during the summit.

Event details are posted online.
