MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Law enforcement officials have arrested nearly a dozen people for trafficking heroin in Alabama.

The State Bureau of Investigation’s narcotics unit announced Monday that authorities arrested 11 suspects in what it called “Operation Needle Breaker.”

Authorities said the effort targeted mid-to-high level heroin distributors in seven counties. Officials seized roughly 150 grams of the drug.
