PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be making lighting repairs in several areas of southwestern South Dakota beginning next month.

The DOT says the repairs will begin on Monday, Oct. 5 in Pine Ridge, Oglala Lakota, Hot Springs, Custer and Hill City.

Traffic will be controlled with lane closures, and the DOT is asking drivers to slow down in work zones and be prepared for suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic. Drivers should also expect to encounter construction workers and equipment adjacent to the roadway.

The $233,000 project is set for completion by Nov. 20.
