WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A fundraiser has been set up in memory of a teenager who police say drowned in the Westfield River last weekend.

Westfield police say 14-year-old David Shovgan, of Chicopee, was swimming with friends Sunday afternoon near the Great River Bridge when he went under the water.

Rescuers found the boy about 20 to 30 minutes later and rushed him to Baystate Noble Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

WGGB-TV (https://bit.ly/1LqDGIP ) reports that a fundraiser has been created through YouCaring.com. The webpage says he will be deeply missed by his mother and father and his four brothers and six sisters.

David was the youngest of the 11 children.

His funeral is scheduled for Sept. 26.
