NEW YORK (AP) - The executive vice president for capital projects at the New York City Housing Authority has been suspended amid a probe by the city Department of Investigation.

The Daily News (https://nydn.us/1OrL6gC ) reports that NYCHA Chairwoman Shola Olatoye confirmed Monday that Raymond Ribeiro was suspended with pay after she was informed of the ongoing investigation.

Olatoye says she was told the probe had nothing to do with Ribeiro’s tenure at the agency.

Ribeiro oversaw NYCHA’s big construction contracts and a $3 billion effort to repair Superstorm Sandy-damaged buildings.

The News says Ribeiro declined to comment when reached at home.

DOI declined to comment or confirm Olatoye’s statements.
