BALTIMORE (AP) - Authorities have apprehended an inmate they say escaped from a minimum-security correctional facility in Baltimore.

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said 34-year-old Kenneth Sullivan was missing at the 10 p.m. count at the Metropolitan Transition Center on Monday.

The department said in a news release that Sullivan had been apprehended Tuesday afternoon at Bon Secours Hospital, where he was being treated for a broken leg sustained during his escape.

Authorities say Sullivan has been transferred to Shock Trauma.

Department spokesman Gerard Shields says he doesn’t have details on how Sullivan escaped. He says Sullivan had six months left on his nine-year sentence for robbery. He is a registered sex offender.
