STORM LAKE, Iowa (AP) - A jury has found a northwest Iowa man guilty of forcing his wife to terminate two pregnancies.

The jury in Buena Vista County District Court returned the verdict Tuesday. The Storm Lake man was convicted of several charges, including two counts of forced consent to termination of human pregnancy and two counts of assault. The jury deliberated for nearly 11 hours.

The Sioux City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1G18olM ) the man was accused of sexually assaulting his wife but he was acquitted of second-degree sexual abuse. The Associated Press is not naming him to protect the wife’s identify.

Authorities say the man forced his wife to take pills that resulted in the termination of two pregnancies between 2012 and 2014.

A sentencing date has not been set.
