NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey man arrested after his mother’s remains were found in the trunk of her car earlier this month has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

William Logan entered the plea during his arraignment in Newark on Tuesday. He remains jailed on $2 million bail.

The East Orange man is charged in the death of his 62-year-old mother, Patricia Blocker, who had been reported missing earlier this month.

Detectives looking for Blocker found her car Sept. 14. Human remains were found in the trunk, and they have tentatively been identified as the East Orange woman.

A cause of death has not been determined, and authorities declined further comment on the investigation.
