OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Prosecutors are not going to pursue criminal charges in connection with an incident in Ogden where a 13-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the neck by her 11-year-old sister.

The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports (https://bit.ly/1WhbgUT ) that Ogden Police Lt. Will Cragun said investigators decided there wasn’t enough negligence to charge anybody.

The girl found the weapon in their grandparents’ bedroom while cleaning Sunday. Police say the bullet struck the 13-year-old in the neck but didn’t hit any vital organs. She is expected to survive.

Police said the elderly grandparents probably had not used the gun in many years and forgot it was in the bedroom.
