BOSTON (AP) - Authorities say a Massachusetts man apologized to his victim immediately after following her out of a Boston supermarket, forcing his way into her apartment and raping her.

Thirty-six-year-old Michael Purpura, of Westwood, was arraigned Monday in Roxbury Municipal Court. Authorities say not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf on two counts of aggravated rape.

The Boston Globe reports police say Purpura raped the woman twice in her apartment in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, then told her it wasn’t a “reflection on her” and that it wasn’t her fault.

Purpura also faces an attempted kidnapping charge after Winchester police say he tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl on Saturday afternoon.

A judge ordered Purpura held without bail pending a hearing Thursday.

His attorney says Purpura looks forward to rebutting the allegations.
