LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County’s population continues to grow as home to nearly three-fourths of all Nevada residents.

The latest census data shows the county had an estimated population of about 2.07 million in 2014.

The 2 percent increase over 2013 equals about 40,000 additional people living in the southern Nevada county that includes Las Vegas.

About 72 percent of the state’s overall population lives in Clark County.

Nevada had 2.8 million people counted in 2014, which is a 1.7 percent increase from 2013.

Washoe County, including Reno, also saw slight gains, with about 440,000 people living in the northern Nevada county in 2014.

Both counties and the state have had small population boosts over the past five years.
