SEATTLE (AP) - According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Seattle metropolitan area ranks eighth in the United States for the number of Chinese-born residents.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/GIl7gn ) Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood has the greatest concentration of Chinese-born residents in the region, with more than 4,000.

About 45,000 people who were born in China live in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Seattle is home to about 12,000 of them.

Seattle’s eastern suburbs have more residents who were born in China than Seattle does, with more than 16,000.
