MOOSE PASS, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say the body found earlier this month near the shoreline of Kenai (KEE’-nye) Lake has been identified as a missing Colorado man.

Troopers in a web posting say an autopsy confirmed the identity of 34-year-old Daniel Compeau of Loveland, Colorado.

The body was found Sept. 15 in the water.

Troopers say Compeau was reportedly intoxicated when he walked away from friends at a camp site near Kenai Lake area close to Moose Pass on Aug. 15.
