TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Police say a Tulsa man who had been celebrating his birthday was struck by gunfire but didn’t realize it until he got home.

On Monday night, the victim and his brother called a friend for a ride home from the bar. While driving on Interstate 44, the group said they heard several “popping” noises but didn’t think much of it.

When they arrived home early Tuesday, police say the men discovered a bullet hole in the rear windshield and the victim started complaining of pain in his left shoulder. Police say the men then realized the victim’s shoulder was bleeding from a bullet wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where another bullet wound was discovered in his buttock.

His injuries weren’t life-threatening.
