LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say a suspect who allegedly attacked a man with a hammer was arrested after the victim helped detain him.

Officer Liliana Preciado says the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following the attack early Tuesday in North Hills.

Preciado says the victim and his family members managed to hold the attacker until police arrived.

Officials have not released the suspect’s identity or named a motive for the attack.
