LOS ANGELES (AP) - Officials say the woman found dead at the scene of an apartment fire in the Westwood area of Los Angeles was a fourth year student at UCLA.

Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says arson investigators are working to identify the cause of the blaze Monday in a first-floor unit of a two-story building.

The Los Angeles Times says (https://lat.ms/1iulBhp ) the dead woman was found after firefighters knocked down the flames in about 15 minutes.

The Pi Beta Phi sorority tells the Times the woman was one of its members named Andrea “Andy” DelVesco. The sorority says it is “mourning the loss of their sister.”

Officials say the apartment had working smoke alarms.

UCLA’s Daily Bruin newspaper reports the woman was studying psychology and Spanish.
