JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A caregiver has been arrested and charged with one felony count of simple assault of a person over the age of 65.

Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release, says 51-year-old Caralee Ann Unruh, of Clarksdale, was arrested at her home Wednesday. She’s accused of striking an elderly woman in her care and threatening her with physical violence.

Unruh was booked into the Coahoma County Jail with bond set at $2,500. It was unknown if she has an attorney who could comment.

If convicted, Unruh faces up to five years behind bars.
