DALLAS, Ore. (AP) - A Polk County woman charged in connection with her mother’s kidnapping has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The Statesman Journal reports (https://is.gd/7tMpqq ) that the trial for 36-year-old Maura Olsson was scheduled to begin Tuesday, but the woman changed her plea to guilty Sept. 2. She was sentenced to three years and two months in prison and 10 years of probation.

Olsson was arrested in May after Polk County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a robbery in Dallas. Olsson’s mother, Karen Pangburn, told deputies that her daughter pointed a shotgun at her and forced her into Olsson’s home. Once inside, the woman said Olsson tied her up with duct tape and took her money, cell phone and car.

Olsson pleaded guilty to kidnapping, menacing, and firearms charges.
