MANNS HARBOR, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Ferry Division is warning that windy and rainy conditions caused by a storm off the Outer Banks could disrupt ferry schedules over the next several days.

A statement from the N.C. Department of Transportation said some ferry runs between Ocracoke and Hatteras already have been cancelled as water became too rough for travel.

Officials recommend that before heading to the ferry stations, passengers call ahead to see if the schedule for their route has been affected. Phone numbers for each ferry terminal can be found on the ferry division website by using the “Find a Ferry Terminal” menu. Travelers can also check the Ferry Division twitter feed.
