WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - The case involving the 2012 slaying of a truck driver in Wilmington is over with the sentencing of the last of six defendants.

Area media outlets report that Nathaniel Lawrence was sentenced Tuesday to 20 to 36 months in prison. The judge agreed Lawrence was eligible for work release. He pleaded guilty in April, 2014, to conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Lawrence was one of six people charged in the ambush slaying of 60-year-old Zhen Bo Liu in June of 2012. Authorities said the defendants ordered food from a Chinese restaurant to lure the delivery driver to a dark street so they could rob him.

Five of the suspects pleaded guilty. The one defendant who went to trial was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
