MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - The longtime publisher of the Mason City Globe Gazette in Iowa has died.

Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory in Mason City says 62-year-old Howard Query died Tuesday. The Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1YBV02T ) Query died due to complications from several health issues, but the newspaper did not elaborate.

Query worked in newspaper advertising for several years, including at the Globe Gazette and the Quad-City Times in Davenport. He was named publisher of the Globe Gazette in 1995. He also oversaw three weekly newspapers, all owned by Lee Enterprises.

Query is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, three adult children and several grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday and Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Query will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery.
