LEWES, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a motorcycle operator who rear-ended an SUV in Lewes has died of his injuries.

Trooper say 39-year-old Russell Pedrick of Laurel died Tuesday at Christiana Hospital, where he was taken after the Sept. 12 crash.

Police say Pedrick was driving his motorcycle north on Coastal Highway. Investigators say an SUV driven by 52-year-old Marti Keeney of Raleigh, North Carolina, was in front of the motorcycle.

Troopers say the SUV was preparing to stop at a stop sign when the motorcycle rear-ended it. The crash threw Pedrick, who, police say, was not wearing a helmet, onto the road.

Keeney was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
