ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A New York man has been sentenced to 25 years to life for his part in a 2007 murder-for-hire plot.

Robert Brewer of Elmira was found guilty of second-degree murder in August. It was the second time the 25-year-old was convicted of fatally shooting Keith Holloway on a Rochester street. His first conviction was overturned on appeal.

Prosecutors say Brewer, along with co-defendants William Miller and Justin Woodard, were involved in the murder-for-hire of Holloway, who was Miller’s sister’s ex-boyfriend.

Brewer, who is already in prison on a weapons charge, had claimed he agreed to kill Holloway but backed out.
