CLEVELAND (AP) - An Ohio lawmaker and her longtime partner are finally getting married after waiting 21 years.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1KQ2VDL ) reports that Rep. Nickie Antonio and Jean Kosmac received their marriage license Tuesday from a Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County judge.

It was the same court where the couple was rejected when they sought one more than 10 years ago.

The Lakewood Democrat posted a photo on Facebook of her and Kosmac getting their license from a court clerk.

Antonio was the first openly gay state lawmaker and has long advocated for same-sex marriage. The Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage for the entire country on June 26.
