COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two Burlington police officers who shot and wounded a Colchester man who threatened to shoot himself and others, including police.

Police responded to a mobile home early Sunday on a report of a man threatening to kill himself.

When officers arrived, they saw 20-year-old James Hemingway through a window holding a rifle.

Crisis negotiators and officers from surrounding communities responded. Authorities say negotiators called Hemingway to try to resolve the issue, but he threatened to shoot himself and others.

Police say the two Burlington police officers who fired at him are Detective Rick Volp and Sergeant Brian Labarge.
