RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police are investigating shots fired at a state police patrol car and another vehicle on Interstate 95 in Richmond.

State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says no one was injured in the shootings, which occurred early Wednesday morning. The shots cracked both vehicles’ windshields but didn’t penetrate them.

Geller says in a news release that the other vehicle was driven by a Goochland County resident.

The trooper heard one loud pop, while the other driver reported hearing two loud pops. They pulled their vehicles over to the shoulder within seconds of each other.

Geller says investigators determined that a small-caliber bullet hit the hood of the patrol car and was deflected into the windshield. The other vehicle’s windshield was hit twice by what appears to be a small-caliber bullet.
