CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The National Weather Service is warning of hazardous conditions along the beaches of the Carolinas.

Forecasters say there is a moderate risk of rip currents Wednesday from Pender County in North Carolina southwest to Georgetown County in South Carolina.

As a disturbance off the North Carolina coast moves southwest, winds are expected to be from the north at about 25 mph. Forecasters say the highest risk of rip currents will be two hours before and after high tide which is about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The surf is expected to be between 3 and 4 feet.
