KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) - Search and rescue crews have officially suspended the search for a hiker who went missing in Blaine County Sept. 12.

The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and volunteers have been looking for 25-year-old Lucas Richardson for eight intensive days. Sheriff Gene Ramsey says this isn’t the outcome anyone was hoping for.

Richardson’s car was found more than a week ago at the Summit Creek Trailhead. He wasn’t reported missing until Sept. 14 when he didn’t show up for work.

Richardson moved from Barre, Vermont, to Idaho and is described as an experienced hiker.
