FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Court records show that the 19-year-old whose Snapchat video led to the evacuation of a college campus told police he was just joking around.

The Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/1FsH9FI ) that Front Range Community College was evacuated Friday afternoon after security learned about the video, which mimics a school shooting.

Fort Collins police wrote that the video was filmed by a student in the back of a Front Range classroom and shows the crosshairs of a gun scope on his teacher. The phone then jerks back like a recoiling firearm.

The video then focuses on a female student and does the same. It also contains text referencing the Columbine school shootings.

Police say the student said he never wanted to hurt anyone. He is charged with a misdemeanor and due in court on Oct. 14.
