PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Tualatin High School teacher has pleaded not guilty to sex abuse charges involving a student.

The Oregonian reports (https://goo.gl/QVaWk8 ) that 31-year-old Jonathan Maggiano was indicted by a grand jury for luring a minor and second-degree sex abuse, both felonies, and misdemeanor charges of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and sexual misconduct.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Maggiano is accused of contacting a student who was not in his class through a gaming website and having sexual contact with her.

A Tigard-Tualatin School District spokeswoman says Maggiano remains on paid administrative leave.

He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 3.
