ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Aspen Skiing Company is expanding its reach to the international market as it looks to attract visitors from China and the Middle East.

The Aspen Times reports (https://bit.ly/1L8b74d ) that Skico spokesman Jeff Hanle says there’s a huge potential market for the ski industry in both regions even though they are both somewhat new to ski culture.

The company sent a sales representative to Dubai this past summer, and has made multiple visits to China in recent years as part of a long-term branding strategy.

Last year marked Skico’s best ever for international visitation. Hanle says the company will continue trying to make Aspen more attractive to international visitors to stay on par with last year.

Skico also has sales representatives in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and Europe.
