CONROE, Texas (AP) - A Montgomery County doctor has been arrested in connection to a crash that killed a family of four on Sunday.

Prosecutors have charged Dr. Rezik Saqer, who owns two Houston pain management clinics, for operating illegal “pill mills” that supplied addictive drugs to patients, including 68-year-old Ronald Cooper, who was charged in last weekend’s three-vehicle crash.

According to court documents, Saqer was arrested Tuesday and charged with fraudulent possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and diversion of a controlled substance for personal use. Officials say he posted a $50,000 bond Wednesday and was released.

The Houston Chronicle could not reach Saqer’s attorney for comment.
